Buffalo Wabs & The Price Hill Hustle

Rooted in tradition and refreshed by modern sensibilities.

Bio

Buffalo Wabs and the Price Hill Hustle hail from Cincinnati where they have been crafting a sound that is both rooted in tradition and refreshed by modern sensibilities. This four-piece ensemble confronts the raw expanse of American music, fashioning a live music experience more akin to a bygone era of sweltering summer tent revivals and introspective meditations of the human condition. Leaning into the foundation of folk, old-time, and early country and bluegrass, the Hustle has molded a unique blend of these traditions with contemporary influences of psych rock, raucous performative gyrations, and a growing catalogue of personal storytelling to offer a product solely their own. Strong vocal leads from Casey Campbell, the drummer, and Matt ‘Wabs’ Wabnitz, the guitarist, anchor a sonic landscape full of lilting harmonies and powerful counter-melody; and with the multi-instrumental leads of Scott Risner and Bill Baldock abounding the audience is guided through a show that defies most genre labeling and denominations. … Bandsintown lists more than 650 of their shows since May 2013, most of them across Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia and Indiana. Along the way they have shared bills with Tyler Childers, Town Mountain, Trampled by Turtles, The SteelDrivers, The Del McCoury Band, Steep Canyon Rangers and Arlo McKinley. The live album Revival arrived in 2015 and Stranger in the Alps in March 2019; the self-titled album followed on West 8th Records in October 2024. In November 2025 they and The Tillers released Race Street Revival: The Herzog Sessions, a split album recorded at Cincinnati's Herzog Studio, where Hank Williams Sr recorded in 1948 and 1949. Live at The Purple Fiddle, ten songs recorded live at The Purple Fiddle in Thomas, WV, came out on November 4, 2026.

“The musicianship here is absolutely excellent. It’s more than excellent — these cats are tight, clear, and their fingers fly like lightning over the strings.”
Melissa Clarke, Americana Highways
“The band is steeped in traditional folk and gospel music, covered in the blues, all the while their hearts are rock ‘n’ roll.”
Jonathan Newsome, Capture Kentucky
